Message from the President – September 2025

It is already September, and the holiday season will soon be upon us. I hope you had a wonderful Labor Day weekend filled with rest and enjoyment.

August was a busy and exciting month for AREAA Houston, and I am proud to share some highlights from our recent activities:

1. CCIM Collaboration Network Mixer – August 20 at Warehouse 72

Over 60 professionals from CCIM and AREAA Houston gathered for an evening of networking and collaboration. It was a rare and valuable opportunity to connect with many commercial brokers. A heartfelt thank you to our Commercial Chair, Sam Chang, for his dedication and leadership in making this event a success.

Our sold-out Lunch and Learn focused on SB17: Understanding the Facts, Impacts, and Next Steps for Texas Real Estate.
We were honored to host a distinguished panel including:

Robin Harris, Texas Realtors Deputy Director of Public Policy

Julia Parenteau, Texas Realtors Director of Public Policy

Amber Burton Alfred, HAR Director of Governmental Affairs and Public Policy

Our goal was to provide clarity, share accurate information, and help prevent unintentional discrimination against clients who may appear to be from or connected to restricted countries. The positive feedback we received reaffirmed the importance of this dialogue.

As we celebrate our 10th Anniversary, AREAA Houston was featured on September 1st in 

. This milestone is a reminder of the strong foundation built by our founding president, Dawn Lin, founding chair, Kenneth Li, and the past presidents and board members who dedicated their time and talents to grow this organization.

Of course, none of this would be possible without our members and our corporate sponsors. Without their generous support, we could not provide low-cost or complimentary events that bring so much value to our community. Thank you!
